Skin Cancer Clinic

Our clinic provides “one stop shop” skin cancer service, from initial skin/mole check, sun spot screening, skin cancer diagnosis and preventive advice, to further skin cancer treatment, including complex skin cancer surgery on the face, neck and the rest of the body. Dr Xu does skin cancer procedures not only in his clinic, but also in the private hospitals where some patients may prefer to have sedation for their procedures.

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. More than one in two Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime according to the resources from SunSmart Australia.

Cancer Council Victoria recommends five steps to protect against sun damage from September to April particularly during the middle of the day when you are outdoors:

  1. Wear protective clothing that covers as much skin as possible.
  2. Apply SPF30+ sunscreen with broad spectrum before you go outdoors and reapply every two hours.
  3. Wear a hat to protect your face, head, neck and ears.
  4. Seek shade.
  5. Bring sunglasses – make sure they meet Australian Standards.
