What are accordion lines?
Accordion lines or smile lines are the curved vertical lines that form outside the corners of your mouth when you smile.

What cause accordion lines?
Repeated smiling may cause the skin in this area to become lax, leaving prominent lines even when you relax after smiling. The loss of facial fat and elasticity as part of the aging process contribute to accordion lines. They are usually more pronounced in people with thin faces.

How are accordion lines treated?
Accordion lines are treated to make them appear less prominent. It increases the volume, smoothing out the lines. The entire procedure takes no more than 30 minutes and does not involve bandages or a recovery period.

When can I see results?
Some results are immediately apparent while others take about a week to notice.

As with most aesthetic procedures, accordion lines treatment may be associated with certain complications such as redness, swelling, bruising or allergic reaction. Sometimes, lumps can form which can be managed by light massaging and will eventually resolve.
